Pre/Post Op Registered Nurse

Surgical nurses prepare patients for surgery by completing a number of steps: Educating the patient on any pre-operative instructions leading up the surgery. Ensuring that all pre-operative tests and bloodwork are completed. ... Settling patient into the room and prepping the patient for surgery. Post anesthesia, the nurse is responsible for observing and treating a patient post-operative. Ensuring the patient is safely awake from anesthesia and assess patients' is coherent.

  • Position has expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.

Experience and Skills and Education

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Texas (Required)
  • Current CPR required, ACLS preferred

Conditions of Employment

  • May be required to submit to annual TB .
  • BMC will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment medical history check.
  • Must have good attendance
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • Must be able to provide authorization to work for any US employer
  • Must be able to speak and understand English (English / Spanish bilingual preferred)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
